Lawrence Technological University Replaces Antiquated Wi-Fi with Top Performing Xirrus

Why? Because Only the Xirrus Wi-Fi Array Gives Wired-Like Performance and Reliability for Improved Learning Campus-wide

Xirrus, Inc., the Wi-Fi "Power-Play" that delivers the most coverage, bandwidth, and user density in the industry, announced today the deployment of Xirrus high performance 802.11n Wi-Fi Arrays throughout the Lawrence Technological University campus located in Southfield, Michigan. This high tech University consists of 11 buildings, containing over 4,300 students and 410 faculty members. Upgrading to Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays provided the campus with the latest in 802.11n technology, delivering far greater coverage and user density over their previous traditional access point system.

Tim Chavis, Director of Information Technology for Lawrence Tech, explains the University's decision to choose Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays in a recent interview, "Since we are Lawrence Technological University, the administration here wanted the latest in technology...having the 'abgn' capability was a big selling point! The other part of it had to do with the number of access points we'd have to install...overall [with Xirrus] we have about one fourth the access points with a full implementation than we would have had with the other vendors.”

Tim further explains the limitless capabilities Xirrus offers by stating, "We used to have a lot of professors that wouldn't use the [Wi-Fi] technology because they couldn't depend on it working in the classroom with the density of students - that's not an issue anymore with Xirrus."
